Vive l'ars français or l'art gotique !

I discovered the most beautiful origins of Gothic architecture in Paris and the Ile de France. The light, the warm-colored "Meulière" limestone of the region, the colour of the stained glass windows come together here to create a great harmony.

The first four-part series on NOTRE-DAME was created in summer 2020, with a strong reference to the brand a year ago.
Here is the quatriptych shown in a video with music by Olivier Messiaen, played on the organ of Notre -Dame.

A three-part series on SAINT-ETIENNE-DU-MONT from Quartier Latin followed in late summer.
The tryptich as video . I recorded the organ music directly during my visit to the church.

This was followed by four pictures on SAINTE-CHAPELLE in late autumn 2020.
The 3 paintings can be seen here as a video with music by Perotin .

I resumed the series in 2023 with "NOTRE DAME, l'intérieur au lendemain après l'incendie", a triptych in smaller format and also to be seen in a video.

Although the two seven-part drafts for the decoration of the Chapelle du petit Saint-Romain in Rouen Cathedral have not been realised, they testify to my interest in the tradition and beauty of church windows, the Vitraux. These "Maquettes pour les vitraux d'une chapelle de la Cathédrale de Notre-Dame de Rouen" are collages made of paper, cardboard, PVC and paint.
