The painting was originally part of a series of 6 pieces entitled ‘Ein Sonntag im Mai - und wir draußen | A Sunday in May - and us outside’. I over-painted 2025.

Götterdämmerung is the title of the fourth part of Richard Wagner's tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen, which he described as a ‘stage festival for three days and an eve’. The ‘eve’ is Das Rheingold, the other two ‘days’ are Die Walküre and Siegfried.
