The painting was originally part of a series of 6 pieces entitled ‘Ein Sonntag im Mai - und wir draußen | A Sunday in May - and us outside’. I over-painted 2025.

Siegfried is the title of an opera by Richard Wagner which, together with the three operas Das Rheingold, Die Walküre and Götterdämmerung, forms the complete work, the tetralogy, Der Ring des Nibelungen, a ‘stage festival for three days and an eve’. Siegfried is performed on the penultimate day.

I aattended the opera in concert at the Philharmonie Paris, France in April 2025.
